I’ve been sleeping on updating my blog, the Cold Pumas / Male Bonding split came back from the pressing plant a while back but I didn’t blog it! I’m so pleased at how these came out. They are printed reverse board which simply means the sleeves are printed inside out. The finish is great and the record is flying out. If you wanna order one then head over to the Faux Discx store, there’s only 320 (it’s an edition of 300 but we had 20 overs) so don’t wait!

I got a new digital camera. It’s called a Digital Harinezumi and it’s pretty awesome. It’s so small and shoots grainy images with blown out colours. The video is great too, it captures footage that looks like it should have been shot on vintage 8mm film. Above are some of my first shots. Expect more soon no doubt.

I’ve just sent off the artwork for the debut release by my band - Cold Pumas. It’s coming out on my own label and we’re sharing the slice of wax with the rather excellent Male Bonding. It’s gonna be printed on reverse board for a beautiful true matt finish. The image is from a stock library - I thought it was perfect and should remain untainted by text. Either that or I’m lazy. You can order a copy of the record (there’s only 300) here.

Went on a CSS course. Pretty cool huh?

Just got a copy of the digipack artwork I did for Mutiny On The Bounty. It was a pretty time consuming job and involved lots of drawing. The band were super stoked with it and I’m really pleased with how it came out. More over at my Flickr page.

Hello danreeves.co.uk, how are you? I’ve almost forgotten what you look like. I = the worst blogger ever. Well, that’s not strictly true because as my girlfriend will testify I have been spending alot of time with the Cold Pumas. It’s a tough job melting faces but somebody has to do it. Anyway, I’ve also been blogging over there as there has been more to report on than over here, if that makes sense?

That’s not to say I haven’t been design-busy of late, since I last wrote I’ve had two projects which have taken a long while to complete, more on them soon. What I can tell you about now though is an exhibition that I’m taking part in called FEAR which is organised by Mr Mark Pavey of Art Is Proof Press. It features loads of great designers and we’ve all had to come up with a one colour design that’ll be printed black on gold. That shit is decadent! Anyway, check out their site for more info.

This weekend just gone saw the holding of the second UK Poster Roast in Cambridge. I was lucky enough to be asked to exhibit alongside a bunch of the best UK gig poster designers such as Drew Millward, Two Ducks Disco, 3D Glasses Design, Luke Drozd and Thr33 Designs. Unfortunately I couldn’t make it but if the pictures are anything to go by the event looked awesome and I’m told it was a great success. Massive thanks goes to Alex Curtis for organising the event, hopefully I’ll actually make it to the next one!

Another favour for another friend. Ain’t I charitable? Mister Oliver Knowles is a rather fine musician and this technicolour volcano reckons you should get him involved with your musical project. He’s a bit of a whizz on the violin and can also do that shredding stuff like Van Halen can on electric guitar.

I did this for my good buddies at Smalltown America. I love black and white illustrations. I think it’s because I’m always trying to get remotely close to the genius of Rick Froberg. Check out his site, the guy is amazing. He was also in a couple of the best bands EVER.
